Conferences & Events
A UNESCO World Heritage venue for conferences, exhibitions and private events.
Where History Meets Modern Events
Woolmers Estate is one of Northern Tasmania’s most distinctive event venues. A UNESCO World Heritage Site established in 1817, the estate combines heritage grounds, modern conference facilities and on-site accommodation, all 20 minutes from Launceston and Launceston Airport.
The Nigel Peck Centre, purpose-built in 2018, houses multiple event spaces ranging from a 12-seat boardroom to a 220-capacity gallery, each with views across the heritage precinct and National Rose Garden. A state-of-the-art commercial kitchen, licensed bar, outdoor entertainment courtyard and free parking for up to 400 vehicles mean your event can be as intimate or expansive as you need.
Whether you’re planning a corporate conference, government meeting, product launch, exhibition, gala dinner or private celebration, Woolmers Estate offers something no standard conference centre can: 13 hectares of heritage grounds, 18 original buildings dating from the 1820s, and the National Rose Garden as your backdrop.
Past guests include the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, who are regular visitors to the estate.
Event Spaces
The Nigel Peck Centre offers several distinct hireable spaces within a single, modern building. Spaces can be hired individually or combined for larger events.
Frances Mary Archer Gallery
The estate’s largest and most versatile indoor space. This purpose-built gallery features high ceilings, gallery-quality lighting, and polished concrete floors. It comes equipped with a drop-down projector screen, audio system and WiFi connectivity, making it ready for presentations, seminars and product launches without additional AV hire.
Best for: Conferences, seminars, gala dinners, product launches, art exhibitions, large private events.
Board Room
A dedicated meeting room fitted with a large boardroom table and executive seating for 12. Ideal for board meetings, strategic planning sessions, private discussions or as a VIP breakout room during larger events.
Best for: Board meetings, executive retreats, interview panels, private breakout sessions.
Internal Courtyard
An outdoor entertaining space adjacent to the gallery, with views across the heritage precinct. The courtyard works as a pre-dinner drinks area, breakout space between sessions, or a secondary venue for events that want indoor-outdoor flow.
Best for: Pre-dinner cocktails, morning tea breaks, outdoor networking, breakout sessions.

More Than a Conference Centre
